WHAT'S UP GETS OVER 1,000 CALLS EVERY DAY - WE CAN'T HELP THEM IF THEY CAN'T GET THROUGH!

Every day of every week, hundreds of children and young people call What’s Up seeking someone to talk to. Some are upset after falling out with friends, some are lonely, some are scared that they might be pregnant, some are on the verge of harming themselves. They are all counting on one of What’s Up’s specially trained, professional Counsellors to be there when they need them.

Sadly, many of these calls – on some days, the majority – go unanswered and the callers hang up in frustration at having to wait or simply can’t get through. I wonder what happens to them? With over 350,000 calls made each year, they could be your children, your nephews or nieces, your grandchildren, your neighbour’s kids. I am sure that you want them to get the help they are looking for.
